DAY 1

Today we meet our fellow photographers at OR Thambo Airport  for a quick briefing before heading off to the land of the Wildies, and probably the greatest wildlife show on earth (definately my favourite wildlife spot in the world) Upon arrival in Kenya we will meet our Airport representative and transfer to a standard hotel for Bed and Breakfast. (Depending on flight arrival time, I will guide you through town on a photo walkabout)

DAY 2
Nairobi – Maasai Mara

Depart Nairobi early morning and drive to Masai Mara with lunch enroute at Narok, which in itself is a great photo spot, but light is generally not on our side here, so a max of half an hour is spent at leisure. We also stop off at the Rift Valley viewsite for a couple of minutes to say you've done-that too"see pic below".

But what were after is getting to the Masai Mara reserve in time for an afternoon game drive. Those of us who are too tired after the bumpy ride are free to stay at the base, but that i'm sure is unlikely. The short ride in the park introduces you to the landscape and wildlife, and gets those cameras warmed up for whats to come. Make sure all your gear is prepped and ready to fire, as some of my best sightings are often on the first ride. Dinner and overnight at Campsite. Sekenani camp/Mara hippo safari Lodge or equivalent.

                                                Day 2 Sunset drive

DAY 3 & 4
Masai Mara

On day 3 in the Mara we will head down to a couple of the Wildebeest crossing points to see what action awaits us. Prepare yourself for a good few hours wait if they are milling around, getting ready to cross, and if they do, my word its a feeling I cant describe, and a smile on ones face that cant be wiped off for a couple of days, something you will be chatting about for the rest of your life. If they arnt crossing, youll still be in awe with the sightings on offer. In fact I have always seen the big 5 and sometimes twice over in 1 day. The game diversity in this park is not as varied as the Kruger for eg, but the abundance of game you see is spectacular. On a scale of comparing the SA parks to the MasaiMara, Masai Masa 10 SA 4 for being able to capture the action on camera due to the open plains and sheer numbers of game. Day 4 is spent exploring other regions of the park, but the radio is always near allerting us to the next sighting of our choice.

Full days spent photographing in the Masai Mara. (Early morning and afternoon till gates close). Breakfasts are generally packed, for maximum time in the bush.

Optional balloon safari. (Only if everyone participates, otherwise the clients on the vehicle need to hang around in the area and loose out on driving off to distant Radio'd in sightings )

                                               Mara Leopards
                                               Birds in flight
                                               Fresh kills everywhere
                                               The wildebeest migration

DAY 5
Mara –
Lake Nakuru

Depart the camp after breakfast and proceed to Lake Nakuru National park. Depending on the road conditions, and weather, we cross a mountain range with some great views, otherwise its back through Narok and on the tar to "Flamingo Heaven". Lunch followed by afternoon game drive. This park bordering a village, is also a favourite of mine, as youre able to cover the whole park in a day, constantantly stopping around every corner to photograph something new. Dinner and overnight at a campsite inside the park or Lake Nakuru Lodge. I prefer staying inside the park, as its close to the game and you never know what arrives at your door.

                                               Nakuru Flamingos early Morning
                                               Nakuru Rhinos

DAY 6
Lake
Nakuru National park

A full day is spent filling up your memory cards. We take a drive to a lookout point with a birds eye view of the pink dotted lake, and later we stop for a break at the Makalia Falls, which when flowing strongly deserves at least half an hour to fully capture on film. We then wonder through the forest in search of the Colobus monkey, leopard and whatever else wants to be filmed.

                                              Lake Nakuru Day 5
                                              Nakuru General
                                              Nakuru buffalo

Day 7
Lake
Nakuru – Amboseli

Break the camp after breakfast and proceed to Amboseli. Lunch enroute. Arrive in good time for afternoon game drive and set up camp after sunset. Amboseli lodge or Equivalent. Amboselli NP is located below Mount Killimanjaro, creating the perfect backdrop for any Elephant shot. This park is very dry, making it great for excellent dusty sunset shots, great game spotting, and it gives youtotally different to the other parks on this trip. Amboselli is world renowned for its elephants and anywhere you go within its boundaries, expect them to appear with their families in toe heading off to some water.

                                              Amboselli aftrnoon arrival

DAY 8
Amboseli

Full day spent photographing in the area.

                                               Amboselli cheetah
                                               Amboselli at midday
                                               Amboselli Spare Ribs

Day 9
Amboseli
Nairobi.

The final morning game drive before breakfast, always provokes the feeling of "why is the trip over so soon". We then pack up and drive back to Nairobi to arrive late afternoon for flight back to S,A.
